Our in-office teeth whitening procedures are among the most effective on the market. Dr. Engelberg also recommends take-home trays for maintenance of your newly whitened smile, and provides them for free during the in-office whitening process!

At-home Teeth Whitening

Many of our patients from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Barrington, Northbrook, and Lake Forest choose an at-home teeth whitening method as an alternative to in-office whitening. Although at-home teeth whitening methods can take two to three weeks to achieve desired results, they have the added benefit of allowing patients to retouch their smiles in the comfort of their home whenever they feel it is necessary. At our office, we have chosen the Nite White®, Day White®, and Opalescence ® lines of at-home teeth whitening products. All three systems use a custom gel tray that is specifically designed to fit each patient's smile. Nite White® is used overnight and Day White® can be used during the day, achieving excellent results with just two 30-minute treatments. Opalescence® is similar, and has a variety of options depending on your sensitivity level and preference for time of day to wear the custom trays.

Dental Bonding

Dr. Engelberg and his team are highly experienced in the application of dental bonding techniques. Dental bonding is used to repair cracked, chipped, or discolored teeth, but the procedure can also correct misaligned teeth for a straighter, more uniform smile. During dental bonding, the tooth surface is roughened so that a composite resin can properly adhere to it. The composite resin is then shaped and smoothed to create the desired look. Once they are dried with a high-power light, buffed, the bonded tooth is polished to precisely match the surrounding teeth. Many of our patients find bonding to be an excellent alternative to porcelain veneers, braces, and other techniques of whitening, reshaping, or straightening teeth.

Tooth-colored Fillings

With the help of tooth-colored, composite fillings, patients no longer have to live with traditional metal cavity treatments. The advent of long-lasting composite fillings that precisely match the color of your teeth — repairing cavities virtually invisibly — has been one of the most widespread changes in the field of cosmetic dentistry.
