Traditional Veneer Placement
Traditional veneers are thicker and placing them means making room. To do this, the doctor removes a thin layer of enamel from the tooth. After the restoration is completed, the new one is then placed onto the tooth.
Minimal Prep Veneers
While much of the process is similar, there are some key differences with the minimal prep version. First, we may not need to remove any outer structure. We take detailed impressions of the tooth and using CEREC technology, can design and fabricate the veneer in a single visit. We then check the fit and if necessary, make adjustments. Finally, we place the veneer onto the font of the tooth.
What Esthetic Concerns Will They Address?
Both options are made from porcelain, a very strong and very lifelike material that transforms the shape and shade of the tooth. We can use them to address a number of different cosmetic issues, such as masking permanent teeth stains, addressing gaps between the teeth, and correcting the appearance of minor misalignment.
