Answer Key

  1. True. We offer an in-office option that allows us to address stains in one visit. We first place a protective covering over your lips and gums. We then apply a powerful bleaching gel onto the teeth. Using a light, we activate the gel and remove the discoloration. We can use this option to address most surface discoloration.
  2. True. After removing discoloration, we apply a fluoride treatment. Fluoride can strengthen your smile’s defenses against tooth decay, allowing us to improve both the beauty and health of your smile in the same visit.
  3. True. With this option, we can address both surface stains and minor intrinsic stains (also known as permanent stains, as these form below the tooth enamel). We will send you home with a set of trays and bleaching gel. Each day, you will fill the trays with the gel and then wear the tray for about one to two hours. The total course of treatment typically lasts between one and two weeks. You can keep the trays, as well as the remaining gel, for future touch ups.
  4. True. Make sure you’re taking time to brush and floss correctly! Simply taking better care for your smile can not only prevent cavities, but also help your smile stay brighter for longer.
