Question: How do you administer treatment?
Answer: We will administer the deoxycholic acid solution via an injection just under the chin. The total treatment time takes about 20 minutes. For serious cases, we may need to administer up to six treatments, one per month. Redness around the site is rare, but can occasionally develop and is very temporary.
Question: How long do the results last?
Answer: Once we administer treatment, the deoxycholic acid attacks and destroys accumulating fat cells under the chin. This will continue to happen for months or even years after. In fact, patients receiving the treatment never need to undergo the Kybella treatment again.
Question: What about lines and wrinkles in the face?
Answer: Kybella only addresses fat accumulation under the chin. However, we can use Botox to remove lines and wrinkles in the forehead or around the eyes. Dermal fillers can fill in lines around the nose and mouth, and Voluma can help lift sagging cheeks for a more youthful appearance. These treatments are administered via injection. Some, like Voluma, can last for years. Others, like Botox, can be administer during your routine checkups to prevent lines and wrinkles from reappearing.
